The students of the Department of Historical Studies have participated in inter-collegiate History Department festival on “Embracing the Power of Youth: towards a Transformative Future” organised by the Department of History, Loyola College, Chennai on 16.12.2023. In that festival, various events like Ink-Link-Relay, Variety Entertainment, Auction @ Action, etc., were conducted and won I, II and III Prizes.

The students were instructed by curators from the department of Children section, Chemistry, Geology, Botany, Anthropology, Numismatics, Archaeology, Art and Zoology and also given Special lecture on “Architecture of Bragadeeshwar Temple, Tanjore”.
The State Minister for Tamil Development information and Publicity, Shri. Saminathan, came to the museum to inaugurate the renovated Victoria Memorial Hall – Art Gallery, the Refurbished Museum Theatre and a Canteen serving traditional food.
