National Level Conference on “Economic Renaissance: India's Growth Outlook And Its Implications” on 29.09.2023. Shri C. Kamaraj, IAS (R)Director of the Rajiv Gandhi IAS Academy, Dr.D. Rudrappan, Former JDCE, Dr.S. Jayaraman, Head, Presidency College, Dr.G.Yoganandham, Professor & Head, Thiruvalluvar University were the Chief Guest.

Department of Economics has conducted Viva Voce Exam for Mrs.D.Sundari, the part time research scholar under the supervisor of Dr.V.Lakshmi, Principal and research supervisor on 19.07.2019. Dr.Venkatachalam, Professor, Madras Institute of Development Studies presided over the event as external examiner. The title of the research study is “An Economic analysis of Irrigation and Technology in groundnut cultivation in Thiruvallur District. Professors from Anna University, Chellammal college, Loyola college, Ambedkar college of Arts & Science, our college and research scholars.

On 9th July 2019, the Department of Economics has organised an invited lecture. The topic of the lecture was Health Economics. Dr. Muniyandi, Scientist C a renowned economist in the field of economics, Department of Socio Behaviourial Research, National Institute for Research in Tuberculosis has consented to deliver that lecture on the topic health economics. He has got 19 years or rich research experience. In his lecture he has highlighted the importance of health and how health factor affect the productivity of a country by giving number of evidences.

On 11th July 2019, the Department of Economics has celebrated World Population Day to highlight the value of population study. On 11th July every year, World population Day is being celebrated to raise awareness of global population issues. The event was established by UN Development Programme in 1982. Shri. R. Gyanashekar, Joint Director, Directorate of Census operations, Tamil Nadu, Chennai has consented to be the chief guest. On this occasion, he spoke about the aim of celebrating World Population Day.

Inauguration of Economics Association 2017-2018. Dr. Jothi Sivagnanam, Head of the Department, University of Madras was the Chief guest.

Organised Eco Bazaar on 21.02.2018. Students arranged 62 stalls in which the items like ornaments, handicrafts, food stuff, Nursery & Herbal plants, Sarees etc were sold out. Dr.Raichal Rebecca Philip, Dactorpreneur was the Chief Guest.

Khadi and Village Industries Commission trained our students on Bakery products making and Fasion Jewellery making. The certificate courses were conducted between 20.12.2017 and 24.12.2017
