Academic Year 2025-2026

On 20th June 2025, the Department of Corporate Secretaryship of Dharmamurthi Rao Bahadur Calavala Cunnan Chetty’s Hindu College, in collaboration with United Way of Chennai, conducted an E-Waste Management Awareness Program at Seethamma Conference Hall.

The event featured Ms. A. M. Asmah from United Way of Chennai as the esteemed resource person, who shared valuable insights on responsible e-waste management and sustainable practices. The event saw enthusiastic participation from 210 students, reflecting strong student engagement in environmental issues.

The Department of Corporate Secretaryship organised a vibrant and purposeful event titled “Inauguration of Corporate Concord Students Innovative Council Cell and Fresher’s Day Celebration” on the 14th July 2025 at the Cunnan Auditorium. This dual celebration aimed at launching a student-led innovation platform and extending a warm welcome to the first-year students of the department.

The event was graced by the presence of the esteemed chief guest CS Meghala Sreeram, a practising company secretary and sole proprietor of K.S. Meghala Associates, who delivered an inspiring address on the relevance of innovation, leadership, and professionalism in the corporate world. The programme featured formal inaugural proceedings followed by engaging cultural performances and games, reflecting the department’s spirit of inclusivity, creativity, and collaboration.

The Department of Corporate Secretaryship of D.R.B.C.C.C. Hindu College (Shift–II), in association with the Tamilnadu Advanced Technical Training Institute (TATTI), organised a week-long Add-On Certificate Course on Taxation and GST. The program was conducted from 21st July 2025 to 28th July 2025, between 10:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. at the B.Com Corporate Secretaryship venue. This course aimed to provide students with in-depth knowledge and practical exposure to the concepts of taxation and the Goods and Services Tax (GST), a crucial and evolving area in commerce and finance. With the active support of the management, faculty, and technical trainers from TATTI, the programme was successfully executed with enthusiastic participation from students.

The Department of B.Com (Corporate Secretaryship), in collaboration with the iGeN Technologies, successfully conducted a certificate course on “Stock Market and Advanced Option Trading” from 30th June 2025 to 7th July 2025. This programme aimed to equip students with practical insights and advanced strategies in the field of stock market investments and options trading. The sessions were led by industry professionals, offering participants real-time exposure to market dynamics, risk analysis, and trading platforms. This initiative not only enhanced financial literacy but also empowered students with valuable skills for future careers in finance and capital markets.

The Department of B.Com Corporate Secretaryship, in association with the Department of B.Sc Computer Science with Artificial Intelligence and Sambhav Foundation, organized a 30-hour interdisciplinary certificate course on Basics of Al and Digital Skills. The program was conducted from 30th June to 4th July 2025, at Ramanujam Hall, Hindu College, Pattabiram. The certificate course aimed to introduce participants to the fundamentals of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the practical applications of digital tools across industries. experts and included lectures, Sessions were conducted by knowledgeable demonstrations, and interactive discussions. "Master the Future with AI This 30-hour -intensive course was designed to introduce students to cutting-edge digital tools and the world of Artificial Intelligence.

The Department of Corporate Secretaryship (Shift-II), in association with Government Stanley Medical College and Hospital, organised a Human Life Saving Awareness Program on the topic “One Life, Many Lives – Organ Donation Matters” on 31st July 2025. The event took place at Ramanujam Hall from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The session was graced by expert speakers Mr S. Senthil Kumar, Senior Transplant Co-ordinator and Grief Counsellor, and Mr S. Suresh, Grief Counsellor and Transplant Co-ordinator, both from Government Stanley Medical College and Hospital. Their insights and real-life experiences provided students with a comprehensive understanding of organ donation, its legal and emotional aspects, and its life-saving potential.

An educational visit to the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) was organized for the third-year B.Com Corporate Secretaryship students to deepen their understanding of the regulatory framework governing India’s capital markets. The visit aimed to bridge theoretical classroom learning with practical insights from the financial regulatory environment.

The industrial visit to Adani Port at Kattupalli was organised for the II Year students of the Corporate Secretaryship Department on 28th July 2025. The primary objective of this visit was to expose students to port operations, logistics management, and the technological advancements in maritime and industrial logistics. The visit provided insights into the functioning of a modern seaport, handling of cargo, and the infrastructure supporting these activities.

The Department of Corporate Secretaryship of DRBCCC Hindu College (Shift-II) successfully organized the Inter-Department Quiz Competition 2025 on the occasion of Income Tax Day. While Income Tax Day is officially celebrated on 24th July every year, the department conducted this meaningful and informative program on 30th July 2025 to honor the importance of income tax and raise awareness about its role in the Indian economy. The quiz competition was held in Ramanujan Hall and saw enthusiastic participation from students across various departments. The program was coordinated by Dr. P. Priya, Smt. P. Selvi, and Smt. K. Jeyalakshmi, under the guidance of Dr. N. Swarnalatha, Head of the Department of Corporate Secretaryship.

The Department of Corporate Secretaryship of Dharmamurthi Rao Bahadur Calavala Cunnan Chetty’s Hindu College [Shift-II], in association with United Way of Hyderabad, organized a 40-hour Certificate Course on Job Readiness Training (JRT) Session. The program was conducted from 26th August 2025 to 4th September 2025 at the III B.Com (Corporate Secretaryship) venue, between 10:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. The training aimed to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and industry requirements by equipping students with the essential skills, confidence, and preparedness to enter the corporate world.

The Department of Corporate Secretaryship (Shift II), Dharmamurthi Rao Bahadur Calavala Cunnan Chetty’s Hindu College, in association with Udhavum Ullangal Public Charitable Trust, organized an Academic Assistance Program on 18th August 2025 at 11:00 a.m. The venue for the event was the Cunnan Auditorium. The program was graced by the presence of the Resource Person, Mr. R. Santhanam, Trustee, Udhavum Ullangal Public Charitable Trust, along with dignitaries including Dr. N. Rajendra Naidu (Director), Dr. G. Kalvikkarasi (Principal), and Dr. N. Swarnalatha (Head, Department of Corporate Secretaryship) .

The Department of Corporate Secretaryship of Dharmamurthi Rao Bahadur Calavala Cunnan Chetty’s Hindu College [Shift-II], organized an Income Tax Day program on 30th July 2025 to raise awareness among students about the role and importance of income tax in India’s economy. The main feature of the event was a presentation delivered by Dr. N. Swarnalatha, Head of the Department, who provided in-depth insights into the income tax system. The session also included an engaging Inter-Department Quiz Competition to reinforce learning in an interactive way.

iGeN Technologies recently conducted an insightful Live Trading Session, providing participants with hands-on experience in real-time stock market operations. The session aimed to bridge the gap between theoretical learning and practical application by guiding attendees through actual trading environments under the supervision of market experts.Participants observed live market movements, analyzed stock trends, and executed mock trades using advanced trading platforms.

Peer teaching sessions were conducted as part of the student enrichment activities to enhance collaborative learning and leadership skills. The final year students actively took the initiative to conduct insightful sessions for their juniors under faculty guidance.

The Department of Corporate Secretaryship, Dharmamurthi Rao Bahadur Calavala Cunnan Chetty's Hindu College (Shift-II), in collaboration with the DRBCCC Hindu College Alumni Association, organised a one-day workshop on "Career Planning and Technology Trends" on 12th September 2025 at Ramanujam Hall. The event was graced by the presence of respected dignitaries, staff co-ordinators, and students. The resource person for the workshop was Mr Arun Kumar (MBA Finance), an esteemed alumnus of the 2006-2009 B.Com batch, who is currently serving as Senior Lead - Automation, Agile Methodologies. With over 15 years of professional experience in the IT industry, Mr Arun Kumar shared his insights into career planning, industry demands, and the role of technology in shaping the future workforce.

The Students of Corporate Secretaryship conducted the "MOCK EXTRA ORDINARY GENERAL MEETING" in the name of the company "THROTTLE TECH CORP AUTOMOTIVE PVT. LTD" All legal formalities of an actual meeting were scheduled and performed by the students. The Department of Corporate secretaryship was first to conduct Mock Extra Ordinary General Meeting (Mock EGM) in the college. It was conducted on 9th January 2020 in cunnan Auditorium between 3pm to 5pm. Mrs. Geetha Sridhar (Company Secretary, Cost Accountant and lawyer) was the Chief Guest of the occasion, our Principal. Dr. V. Lakshmi, Director Dr.N. Rajendra Naidu, Graced the programme with their presence.

The Department of Corporate Secretaryship Conducted a One Day Workshop on RPA (Robotic Process Automation) held on 17th August 2019 from 9.30 am to 4.30 pm for Final Year Students. J.ARUNKUMAR (Assistant Manager in Renault Nissan Technology and business center India Pvt limited) addressed the students.

The Department of Corporate Secretaryship had conducted a "Skill Based course on GST" in Association with 3S PRO ACADEMY, The Memorandum of Understanding was made between the Department of Corporate Secretaryship B.COM(CS) of Dharmamurthi Rao Bahadur Calavala Cunnan Chetty Hindu College and CA.Dr.Gopal Krishna Raju (Founder and Director of 3S PRO ACADEMY).

Academic Year 2019 - 2020

The Department of Corporate Secreataryship organized Corporate Concord Association Inauguration on 12th July 2019. This event was conducted to felicitate and declare the Office Bearers for various posts of the Corporate Department for the academic year 2019-2020 in cunnan auditorium at 2.00 Pm The chief guest Mrs. Chitra Anantharaman Deputy Director ICSI Inaugurated the Auspicious Occasion.

The Department of Corporate Secretaryship Conducted a One Day Workshop on RPA (Robotic Process Automation) held on 17th August 2019 from 9.30 am to 4.30 pm for Final Year Students. J.ARUNKUMAR (Assistant Manager in Renault Nissan Technology and business center India Pvt limited) addressed the students.

Department of Corporate Secretaryship conducted a Short Term Certificate Course on Photoshop from 24th July 2019 to 30st July 2019. The course had a duration of 5 days. Students of IIIrd year B.COM ISM Barnaba Issac and Bharthidasan tuted the participants of the course. The participants actively participated and submitted their project on Photoshop. On 31st August 2018 at the valedictory session, the participants showcased their projects before Principal Mam. Certificates were awarded to the participants on the same day.

Program Outcomes (PO)

PO – 1 : Apply the knowledge of company law and secretarial practice in understanding me of company secretary and responsibility in managing firms business activities

PO – 2 : Make use of modern electronic devices in communication process and understanding its importance transforming information

PO – 3 : Understand the impact of the operation of the security market and transactions carried out by participants in the secondary market.

PO - 4 :Understanding consumer behavior and channel of distribution, undertaking marketing research are important to students in marketing paper.

PO - 5 :Understand human values and ethics followed by corporate entities.

PO - 6 :Apply the knowledge of vouching and verification of various documents used in business firm is explained by auditing.

Program Specific Outcomes (PSO)

PSO – 1 : Understand the safety measure to be adopted by the industries and this government role in monitoring whether the methods are strictly followed.

PSO – 2 : Gain practical knowledge in Income tax use shows students the live budget of each financial year.

PSO – 3 : Study the structure of banking companies and how they provide financial assistance to various sizes of business units and controlling exchange rates.

PSO – 4 : Develop qualities of a successive entrepreneur and ability of decision making.

PSO – 6 : Import the knowledge of various laws and there provisions that are governing business activities.

PSO – 7 : Apply the knowledge accounting in preparation of company accounts.

Academic Year 2020 - 2021

The Department of Corporate Secreataryship organized Online Corporate Concord Association Inauguration on 28-10-2020. This event was conducted to felicitate and declare the Office Bearers for various posts of the Corporate Department for the academic year 2020-2021.

The Department of Corporate Secretaryship Conducted a One Day Workshop on ACADEMIC SUPPORT PROGRAM (MS -WORD & DATA ANALYSIS) on 09-02-2021 from 9.30 am to 5.30 pm for Final Year Students . The Resource Person Dr. U. Urathal Alias Sri Swathiga Assistant Professor (B.Sc-CS) DRBCCC HC Dr. S. DeepaPriya Assistant Professor (B.Sc-Statistic)DRBCCC HC Smt. A. Parimala Assistant Professor(B.Sc- Statistic) DRBCCC HC trained the students.

Acadmic Year 2021 - 2022

The Department of Corporate Secretaryship Conducted a One Day Workshop on Database Management System on 07/05/2022 from 9.30 am to 5.30 pm . Mr. J.ARUNKUMAR Associate Manager (HCL Technologies) enlightened the emmerging concept into the minds of the younger generation of Corporate Department.

2022 - 2023

The Department of Corporate Secretaryship organized Corporate Concord Association Inauguration on 10/08/2022, for the Academic Year 2022-23. Dr. G. Kalvikarasi our beloved Principal, Dr.N.Rajendra Naidu our beloved Director of our college enlightened the gathering with a special address. Mrs. Chitra Anantharaman, Deputy Director of Southern Indian Regional Council of ICSI the Honorable Chief Guest for Concord Association Inaugurated the Corporate Concord Association. She connected the students one another by sharing valuable knowledge with respect to the Professional Course, to be specific the Company Secretary course in ICSI.

The Department Of Corporate Secretaryship Organized A Guest Lecture Witnessing The National Small Industry Day on 30/08/2022, for the Academic Year 2022-23.The occasion was enlightened with a silent prayer to spread positivity. The Occasion is made more special by the presence of our beloved Principal Dr. G. Kalvikarasi and blessed by our beloved Director Dr.N.Rajendra in absentia. Chief Guest, Mr. M. K. Anand Delivered his thoughts, Viewpoints and Researches about the small industries in India to the Students. He also ranged the scope of employment opportunities available as compared to the famous and familiar companies, on the whole the Guest Lecture on The National Small Industry threw the light into the minds of the students about the emerging opportunities available in Small Scale Industry.

The Department Of Corporate Secretaryship Organized SEBI Visit for the II B.COM (CS) students on 21st December 2022 . Around 65 from students with one faculty Member Asst.Prof. M.Jeevitha Kumari Visited SEBI to enrich and impact Knowledge on securities and market exchange to the students . Mr. Ilango Assistant Manager of SEBI engagged the students to provide the adequate knowledge.

Ms. Priyanka. A, CO- Founder- Cloud Designs Pvt. Ltd has been invited as resource person for the event. She gave a lot of information about Entrepreneurship and starting up our own small business. She also ranged the scope of employment opportunities available as compared to the famous and familiar companies, on the whole the Guest Lecture on The National Small Industry threw the light into the minds of the students about the emerging opportunities available in Small Scale Industry.

The Department Of Corporate Secretaryship organized a Community Development Programme on emphasizing “Higher Education and Career Enhancement '' exclusively for the 11th and 12th pursuing students of Government Higher Secondary School, Tandurai on 08th January 2024. With the presence of Mrs. Sheema Akthear, Head Mistress of Government Higher Secondary School, Tandoori. The motive of this program is to create Awareness for the students regarding their higher education which serves as a base for their higher studies in future.

The Department Of Corporate Secretaryship has organized Scholarships for Students by Udhavum Ullangal Public Charitable Trust on 29th December 2023. This scholarship program has served many students for their education. Every year, the Udhavum Ullangal Public charitable trust has been helping many students for their education.

The Department Of Corporate Secretaryship Organized Educational Visit for the III B.COM (CS) students in 2023 . Around 35 students with one faculty Member Asst.Prof. M.Jeevitha Kumari Visited Barclays bank. This educational visit to Barclays bank helps students in providing career development ideas and also the students get an opportunity to interact with the Barclays employees which provides them a vast knowledge about their career.

Department of Corporate Secretaryship organized an interdepartmental competition held on 13-03-2024. They scheduled 3 different types of competition PAINTING, (How Money Influences the Company Industries) QUIZ ( Identify the Logo)and BROUCHER DESIGNING( Own Dream Company). The competition aimed to foster camaraderie, creativity,and healthy competition among students within the department.

Acadmic Year 2024-2025

The Department of Corporate Secretaryship has organized Corporate Concord Students Innovative Council Inauguration on 01/08/2024 for the Academic Year 2024-25, in the seethamma conference hall. Our beloved Head of the Department, Dr.N.Swarnalatha, kicked off the event with a welcome address and an inspiring speech to the audience.The chief guest,L.V.Shyam Sundar,a distinguished member of the ICSI and a PGCBM graduate from XCRI, delivered a speech that was invaluable to the students career. In the academic year 2024-25, the head of our department presented badges to the coordinators of 3rd year students and assistant coordinators of 1st and 2md year students.

The Department of Corporate Secretaryship, in association with Gender Cell, and United Way of Chennai, orchestrated a poignant event titled “Women in Green Technology”. From August 7 to August 9, 2024, a workshop was conducted in Seethamma Conference Hall for the female students in the Departments of Corporate Secretaryship, Accounting and finance, General, and Banking and management. The event Commenced with an inaugural ceremony, followed by welcoming speeches that set the tone for the day. Overall, “Women in Green Technology” had a lasting impact on participants, instilling a sense of pride and motivation to advocate for environmental conservation and sustainable practices in their daily lives.

The Department of Corporate Secretaryship has organised a guest lecture on “Career Development Opportunities In Risk Management” on 28-08-2024, in the Cunnan Knowledge Centre. To promote insurance sector recruitment among students. Insights, experiences, and practical advice shared by industry experts. Guest lecture by LIC, New India Assurance, and Insurance Institute of India at DRBCCC Hindu College and the guest speakers are Murali Ramishetty, D.Abhishekh, R.Nirmala, R.Thirumal. Approximately 70 students from the department of Corporate Secretaryship actively participated in the session. Inspired students and provided practical knowledge for insurance careers. Highlighted the value of real-world experience in shaping career goals.

The Department of Corporate Secretaryship has organised a poignant event titled “The Day Of Action” in association with “United Way of Chennai” to promote plastic-free environment, on 21st June,2024, from 3.00p.m to 4.30p.min classrooms for first and second year students. The event kicked off with an inaugural ceremony followed by the welcome speeches that set the tone of the day. Volunteers played a pivotal role in guiding students through the process of creating paper bags, imparting practical skills and reinforcing the importance of reducing plastic usage. The day of Action left a lasting impact on participants, instilling a sense of pride and motivation to continue advocating for environmental conservation and sustainable practices in their daily lives.

The department of Corporate Secretaryship has organised an regional seminar on Awareness programme on commodity derivatives to enhance the participants about the basics and importance of commodity derivatives. The event aimed to provide an understanding of how these financial instruments work and their role in managing risks in markets. The participants are appreciated by presenting certificates at the end of the session.

The department of Corporate Secretaryship has organised a scholarship program in association with uthavum ullangal from public charitable trust on 12-9-2024. It has been conducted to provide scholarship for disadvantaged students who are nearly 16 students deserving as a single parent. This initiative aimed to empower students by easing their financial burdens and inspiring them to pursue their academic dreams.
