The Department of English started offering B.A English Literature as a core course in the year 1978. The Department functions as a part time research department striving to foster academic excellence and research excellence. It is strongly committed to development of communication skills of the students. The special features of the department are Book Club (in association with the Book Club India) and Literacy Blog (Athena s Musings) which are maintained by the students of the department. The department firmly believes in the power of humanities to bring intellectual transformation which will lead to social transformation.
