INDUSTRIAL VISIT

Our department organized a Industrial Visit to final year students (Batch 2018-2021) on 09-01-2020 to Hatsun Agro Product limited at kanchipuram plant nearly 95 students visited the company and gained the practical knowledge about the production process of the company accompanied by our staff member professor B.Balamurali (HOD) and professor L.Thara.

INAUGURATION OF F.I.N.D FORUM

The inauguration of the F.I.N.D Forum (Financial Information Network Development) was conducted on 09.09.2022 for the final year students. Organization consisting of volunteers from the Accounting and Finance department. The programme started at 11.00a.m in CUNNAN Auditorium Hall. Inaugural address was given by our principal Dr.(smt).G.Kalvikkarasi

INTER COLLEGE COMPETITION

Our department Final year student B. Praveen Kumar has won the Third prize in Street play event organized by National Service Scheme of Ethiraj College of Women.

INTRA COLLEGE COMPETITION

Our department final year students L. Barkavi, P. Bharathi, M. Dhanalakshmi. Won First prize in the Rangoli Competition which has been conducted by D.R.B.C.C.C HINDU COLLEGE SHIFT-I.

OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE

Our department Second year student Mohanraj(II A/F b) has won an Outstanding Performance Award for the Project "ANJATHEY" on 1st May 2022. The Award was given by the Rotaract club of madras mount.

June 2019 - 2020

FINO FEST 2019

Our department organized FINO Fest in the month of September 2019. Chief Guest for the event Dr.V.Chandrasekaran(CEO, Lalitha Vidhya Academy). Nearly 15 colleges participated in the inter college competition.

GUEST LECTURE

Guest Lecture was organized for Final year students. The resource person for the event isDr.P.Uma rani, Associate dean, Saveetha Engineering College. Conducted on 17.12.2019.

1.WEBINAR

Our Department first and second year students had participated in a Webinar on “COOPERATIVE ENTERPRISES: Tool For the upliftment of the Rural Community” on 10.06.2021. The Webinar duration was from 11:00 am to 12:30pm. Nearly 90 participants attended the Webinar.

2.WEBINAR

Our Department organized a Webinar on “Interview Skills & Career Development” on 13.08.2021. Presented by S.Vishnu bala (Financial analyst of Shell Company), our department alumni student. Nearly 93 student attended the Webinar.

3.WEBINAR

Our Department organized a Webinar for second year students on the Topic “US & Indian Banking System” on 21.08.2021. Presented by S.Thirumalai swamy (Senior Analyst Accenture Company ), our department alumni student. Nearly 104 students attended the Webinar.

4.WEBINAR:

Our Department organized a Webinar for Final year students on the Topic “Investor Awareness” on 28.08.2021. Presented by Mrs.Rekha Ramanathan (BPSI Trainer, Indusind Bank Ltd.) Nearly 85 students attended the Webinar.

5.WEBINAR:

Our Department organized a Webinar for Final year students on the Topic “HOW TO IMPROVE COMMUNICATION SKILLS” on 08-09-2021 from 02.00 PM to 03.00 PM. Presented by E.VALLI Nearly 88 students attended the Webinar.

6.SHORT TERM CERTIFICATE COURSE:

Our department B.Com (A/F) has organized a 30 hours certificate course for second year and final year students from (29-04-2022 to 09-05-2022). On the topic “ACCOUNTING AND TAXATION” (GST) AND “LOGISTICS AND SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT” in Association with ‘TamilNadu Advanced Technical Training Institute’.
The programme inauguration was started at 11.00.a.m in RJB Block Seminar Hall. Welcome address was given by our department H.O.D Mr.B.Balamurali. Special address speech was given by our Secretary Shri.M.Venkateshaperumal, proceeded by Presidential address delivered by our Director Dr.N.Rajendra Naidu (Centre for R&D) and COO (Chief Operating Officer) Mr.Joshua Gerard of ‘Tamil Nadu Advanced Technical Training Institute’ has delivered his speech about the importance of this certificate course.
Totally 224 students have registered for this course.108 students for “Accounting and Taxation” and 116 students for “Logistics and Supply Chain Management”.

7.INDUSTRIAL VISIT

4.CERTIFICATE COURSE

(Heartfulness Enabled Leadership Cell)

Our Department B.Com (A/F) has organized a 30 hours certificate course for Final and Second year students from (19-09-2022 to 23-10-2022). On the topic "Heartfulness Enabled Leadership Cell" in Association with “YOGA and Meditation Cell” collaboration with “Heartfulness Education Trust”

A Total of 58 students have registered for this course. The certificate course was conducted for 30 hours.

5.CERTIFICATE COURSE

Our Department B.Com (A/F) has organized a 30 hours certificate course for Final year students from (19-10-2022 to 21-10-2022) & (26-10-2022 to 28-10-2022). On the topic "STOCK MARKET & INVESTMENT PLANNING" in Association with “ZEBU (Shares and Wealth Management Pvt Ltd-India)”.
A Total of 89 students have registered for this course. The certificate course was conducted for 30 hours.

6.INDUSTRIAL VISIT

Our Department organized an industrial visit to our final year students on 20-01-2023 to Tamil Nadu co-operative milk producers Federation Ltd at sholinganallur. Nearly 60 students visited industry accompanied by our staff members Dr.E.Jasmin suganthi and Dr.N.Kaliraj

7.KVIC BAKERY PRODUCTS AND BEAUTICIN

Our department has organized a 30 Hours add on certificate course on “Bakery Products and Beautician” in collaboration with “Khadi and Village Industries commission”(KVIC) for days (13-02-2023 to 17-02-2023) (6 hours for days). Inauguration started on 13-02-2023 from 11:00AM at RJB seminar hall, inauguration by our director sir Dr.N.Rajendra Naidu &KVIC staffs and Department staffs. Bakery Products classes were taken by S.Kannan from KVIC and Beautician course was handled by S.Sangeetha and M.Sasikala. 30 girl students have participated in Beautician course an 31 students have participated in Bakery course.The course completed on 17-02-2023 at 5.00PM, and course completion certificates was distributed by KVIC staffs and our department HOD B.Balamurali sir. Totally 61 students have benefitted by this course.

8.FAREWELL

The past three years at this college have been an incredible journey. We have had the opportunity to learn from some of the best professors in the country, make lifelong friends, and explore our passions. We are so grateful for the experiences we have had here and the knowledge we have gained.farewell was celebrtated on 18.4.2023 in CUNNAN auditorium from 2to 5.30pm

9.CSIR ACTIVITIES

Our department students who have conducted the CSIR activity in our school premises in the month of 21st April 2023 at Govt Hr Sec School, Thiruninravur. Nearly 65 final year students from your college participated in the programme of CSIR activity in our school premises.

Course Outcomes (CO)

CO - 1 : Deal with the accounting system very efficiently.

CO - 2 : Develop a keen insight into the aspects of financial transactions

CO - 3 : Maintain financial records and sheets scientifically and systematically.

CO - 4 : Develop the ability to meet the changing requirements of accountancy and standardize the procedures of accounting

CO - 5 : Acquire the competence to identify and weed out the concept, methods, tax evasion and anti accounting system.

CO - 6 : 6 Record the micro and the macro accounts efficiently. Measuring the attainment of PO, PSO and CO. The curriculum is designed in such a way as to develop and measure the accounting skills for the students.


The students are encouraged to undergo real time projects. Oral tests, quizzes program and group discussions are also useful in measuring the attainment of PO, PSO and CO. The students' knowledge and performance in accounting and book-keeping is assessed in the commerce laboratory too.

Program Outcomes (PO)

PO – 1 : Familiarization with financial statements and accounting reports.

PO – 2 : Analysis of monetary transaction: Study the monetary transaction in the journal, ledgers and other such subsidiary books.

PO – 3 : Analysis the financial position of the organization.

PO - 4 :Understand the financial transaction among various organizations and learn the art of book-keeping.

PO - 5 :Analysis the scope and importance of foreign trade and foreign exchange.

PO - 6 :Contribution to Accounting and Financial Systems: Contribution to the innovation, development and creativity in tracing and accounting financial transactions.

Program Specific Outcomes (PSO)

PSO – 1 : Perceive the close linkage and correlation of Finance and Accounting with subjects such as Commerce, Economics and Business Administration.

PSO – 2 : Cope-up with the emerging trends of accounting in the modern world.

PSO – 3 : Develop perceptions of the specialized, fool proof and verifiable methods of Accounting and Finance.

PSO – 4 : Maintain Accounts independently; identify the strong points and the deficiencies of the accounting system.

PSO – 6 : Neglect the arithmetical procedures and acquire mathematical knowledge essential for accounting

PSO – 7 : Understand the allied fields of taxation and auditing.
